A successful international roundtable discussion called “Ethical Horizons, Emerging Opportunities, and Global Challenges of AI in Communication” took place on October 04, 2024.
The event featured a lively interchange of thoughts involving professors, students, and a media professional, which were jointly arranged by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHaSS) alongside UiTM Shah Alam Campus, featuring the BA Communication and BS Development Communication programs.
Engr. Roger P. Rumpon, the Campus Executive Officer, delivered a welcoming message, emphasizing the essential role of technology in changing communication environments. President Dr. Arthur G. The event included four thematic panel sessions, which gathered a varied group of individuals, both from the academe and from the work industry to examine the transformative impact of AI on communication and media.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Jomel Manuel, the Dean of the College, commended the initiative as a vital move in stressing the success of the event as it opens the door for more collaborative "COMMversations" in the future, promoting ongoing discussion and research that will further explore the evolving role of AI in communication and media.
The Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Bachelor of Science in Development Communication programs of CSU Carig Campus collaborated with Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Shah Alam Campus of Malaysia to organize The Commversations event.
